About Me

Hi
My name is Jennifer Clark and i live in London, England.

As far back as I can remember all I every really wanted to do was make Puppets, inspired by films like Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, my passion for all thing puppets began. I have never wanted to perform just create.
I love the way that a seemingly inanimate object can be bought to life by a few simple movement. A talented puppeteer can easily make you forget that this creation, you are watching is not alive.

On a recent trip to Japan I discovered Ball Jointed Dolls and have found the same passion for them as I do for the puppets. Using some of the techniques I have learnt while building puppets I have been able to make some quite successful dolls.

For many year I used fabrics to make my creations but have now fallen completely in love with wood. I took a short course on carving at my local adult education centre and have been hooked ever since.

I wanted to create a blog to chart the making of a puppet and offer a resource for people to get ideas to start there own.

I hope that you find it useful and enjoy reading it. If you have ideas or want to ask me question please feel free to email me. Its always helpful to chat to others and get idea and learn new things.

Have fun

Jennifer
